I installed xorg 1300-8fc7 cause updates told me to and it looks like its messed with my nvidia drivers - desktop

what card do u have?

workaround*

i need to bolt, I have a game in about an hour

elZip, 9600
but doesnt matter
it applies to any ATI card not covered by FOSS drivers

you can downgrade xorg and install fglrx

but it involves using xorg-x11-server-Xorg from FC6

jimblah, too much work

and then preventing yum from upgrading it

exactly

Yeah I am installing FC7 today

Thats why i'm stuck with xp on my laptop for now

lol

thanks for that i'll try that

"stuck"

yea, that's a great "solution"

what a joke

but 9600 is covered by FOSS drivers, r300 already works pretty good on FC6, and it ought to have improved in the meantime.

I'm getting ready to upgrade one machine to f7

I was stuck on xp for 5 days up to today.

jimblah, is that XP home or pro?

pro

then you can use it as a seamless virtualization guest

stop being evil!

hold on my girlfriend is bitching at me

so you can run all your Windows apps on Fedora that dont run in Wine
in a seamless manner

lucky for me i don't have any "windows apps"

nm then

its useful for seeing how much ink is left and seting up other things

my black ink is getting low... damnit

that's pretty easy to fix

lol still a secure linux web hosting learner
I know enough to get me by and setup basic servers
thats about it

you can set up a server but you can't put a shortcut on your desktop?

lol

I don't even go that far. I use linux for my desktop.

I know I can make a shortcut I was asking when they removed it

anybody got a Oki c3100 printer up and running?

hehe "CLI4Lyfe"
I'm bi. I like gui and cli.
got to

any clue how i'ed manually install a firefox plugin because mine doesn't just opens the extensions window then does nothing when i open a xpi file

lol

some extensions require javascript host to install for setup purposes IIRC

so has anyone ran into the problem of thier sound just stopping?

frankly, no.

yea well i looked at the files in fileroller and it looks like a normal package of js's

my sound was working about 5 hours ago then I did a reboot into vista and back to F7 and no more sound

i'm not sure it's possible to install manually without poking around in the .XPI and working out what's supposed to happen

what sound card/solution?

the MCP51 High Def card
nVidia

damn because i'm not getting any help in #firefox as to what could be causing my problem

solution as in what X I use?

you've tried the basics?

such as?

no, as in what do you use for sound - add-in pci card, or onboard.

running firefox from a CLI and checking for output when you try to install

onboard
it's a laptop

those are always fun.

renaming .mozilla and seeing whether the install works with a default config

I was impressed when I installed F7 and everything worked
then my sound died lol

try toggling the mutes in your mixer?

did
tried rebooting

usually it's just muting of the sound volume

tried re detecting it as well

ok i managed to install it when i ran it as root

it's usually not a good idea to run web browsers as root

well duh
i was just testing

??

but it made me realize that my user's extentions list shows nothing not even dcom inspecter or language packs

hmm ya still nothing even after I toggle the mutes
ok well I will hop back on when I get home time to clock out from work

wolsni_, should i try removing extentions.cache

i'm not really sure, i don't muck around with firefox config a lot

does nothing

presumably a file with "cache" in the name doesn't have much to do with the configuration though

yea its not even listing anything tho so i thought it might just need a refesh of the list

i would hope that the extension list itself didn't require a cache

i asked what could be the problem in #firefox about an hour ago and not a single msg in that channel since then even

well, if you can get an answer in there you'd probably get help sooner

i'm thinkin i should backup my bookmarks and just reinstalled

you also might want to head over to mozilla's IRC server, I think they have one separate from freenode

i'll check
so they do
huh didn't know that one

for those of you interested in storage..........

^^^ Hitachi Deskstar 320GB for $74

reinstalling probably won't affect your problem as your settings are stored in your homedir

i'll try renaming the users settings as you suggested earlier lol
well that worked now to transfer the bookmarks over
all is good now

Could anyone aid me with nVidia Dual Monitors?
with setting up*

You get the driver installed?

Khaytsus, Yes, and I have beryl running
Full 3d Acceleration.

jaclinuxhelp, try contacting the translation team for your locale.

Okay, then let me paste a snippet which might help.. I have two same-size monitors.. The second one is disabled when GL (games) come in. Beryl is unaffected.

and where can i do that shinji-kun ?

I have a 17" and 19" T_T
both CRT's =/

jaclinuxhelp, search http://fedoraproject.org/

http://pastebin.ca/562921

shinji-kun: i found #fedora-i18n channel, but nobody responds

I have a 17 and 18 LCD, 1280x1024.. One is slightly behind the other so they look the same

and i found http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/I18N/Join also...

Try a mailing list. Those have much more activity.

Khaytsus, Can you run windowed mode games fine?
I was on Ubuntu (with twinview) and my WoW would only detect widescreen resolutions.

GL only sees 1280x1024 with that config.. The one line is the MetaModes. If you don't want that, comment it out.

any command to show each proccess and how much memory it's using?

But I'll tell ya, FPS's suck on two monitors

o-o

null7238, I think it is top

I already get 10fps in WoW
nVidia GF 7600 GS

htop is better

k

Khaytsus, Anyway to increase?

thanks

openGL speed fixes? =D

Um, make sure you're really GL.. glxinfo | head
Otherwise, reduce resolution I guess... If you reduce it to one monitor, that'll definately help

Khaytsus, Last time I did that, X crashed

um, that's not good
I suspect you're not hardware GL, not set up properly

me as well

trying again +D

glxgears crash too?

zomg, no crash

You should get at least 2500fps.... That card should get more like 3500 I bet

Yes

Ah, hmm

gears run fine
well
some lag
Gears stutter a bit
I'm at 1600x1200
1 monitor
4377 frames in 5.0 seconds = 875.387 FPS
ewww
4377 frames in 5.0 seconds = 875.387 FPS
err
8994 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1793.163 FPS
P4 3.0Ghz
2gb ram

it's not necessary to use your 'Enter' key so often you know...

Let it run for a minute and let it run for a bit
You might switch to a non-Beryl WM for a minute to see too
Beryl cuts about 800-1000 off glxgears for me

ah k
Disabled beryl when running games?
much better
=D

Actually, I do.. It gives me about 25% more fps

=D

meh

Yeah.. Beryl is pretty but.... Hey, do you have the transparent cube options turned on? Those KILL my system if they're on.

Also, does anyone here have a 5.1 or greater sound setup?
Khaytsus, No I don't
I barely use the cube T_T

Desktop, Desktop Cube, Transparency Tab, and "Opacity when not moving". If that's not 100, my system crawls.
But you probably don't have it on

I need to record audio from line-in. What application do you recommend?
I've tried Audacity in the past, but maybe there is something better.

Khaytsus, What sound setup do you have?
Under sound test I see 4 versions of my sound card.

I have a 5.1 card but just 2.1

I'm having trouble with getting full 7.1 working.

The speakers are 5.1 but damned if I can get the rear to work on ANYTHING

fsck, still here?

2/4 items under sound test work.
top one enables front speakers
2nd one for the rest.
I can't seem to get both at the same time. =/

Hmmmm, this is odd.. My Intel 955 laptop, turning down desktop cube transparency when not movingt is fine!
My workstation the cpu goes up to about 15-25% all the time

Ahadiel, is that for a HD TV?

Xaero_Vincent, What do you mean?
Creative Sound blaster audigy SE
7.1 32bit

oh

And I have 7.1 creative speakers with EAX
Khaytsus, Is there anyway to merge the two?

I have a pentium D is there any reason I would choose i386 over x86_64?

moin

Ahadiel, hmm.. do you get 7.1 on Windows?
could it be an ALSA thing?

yes I get it fine on windows.
Then again I'm using creative's drivers

this is interesting

Reading.

Ahadiel, you might ask in #alsa
if there is anything like sorround7.1

hey guys

can you help me with vsftpd?

don't know what that is
srry
ask Southern_Gentlem

Fedora 7, Gnome UI, can't select or map to NFS servers through the GUI, am I missing something? Some step I'm missing?

Any reason you'd pick x64 over i386?

wiki pentium D
instruction set

hi all
how can I check total size one directory with sub-directories ?

man du

du -hs

let me try

familiar with vsftpd?

mrdigital-work: ask you question to the channel as a whole. Don't ask to ask. Just give specific questions

ok
i have a Dir called /backupos
err /backups
i need a user called acronis to access /backups
with 777

Why is the version 100 nvidia driver freezing my comp??
it keeps freezing it

Ask nVidia, we don't have the source, sorry.

Yum by default resolves dependences, right?

well anyone having the proble?

MrWGW-: yes

*problem

mrdigital-work: you want to read man vsftpd.conf

i did

how do I get a list of installed packages?

MrWGW-: yum list installed

MrWGW-: rpm --query --all, or rpm -qa for short

there is also a list created daily by a cron job in /var/log/rpmpkgs

Foolish, thanks about du command

mrdigital-work: Seems you won't get much help here at the moment, try fedoraforum.org

Fedora 7, Gnome UI, can't select or map to NFS servers through the GUI, am I missing something? Some step I'm missing?

hello. I'm having difficulty getting revisor to update the "destination directory" in the dialog box even thought I've specified it in the revisor.conf file. ideas?

should give you something

mrdigital-work, need any help ?

Hi. Is anyone out there who can help me with mounting removable media? HAL says I am not allowed to do it. I've never had a problem like this before.

there's no "address bar" in the file browser. I also have KDE and XFCE installed i f you think either one of thse are better

press ctrl-l to enter an address
that's ctrl-L
you can change to browser mode

does rm -r remove all subdirectories of a directory?

yes.

but not parent directories?

No.

that shouldn't happen, but to work around it get the drive letter and number from the dmesg output, become root and mount it.The end command should me something like mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/tmp

Thanks, foolish. I know I can still mount stuff as root, but it's frustrating.
Y'know?

see bugzilla.redhat.com, I think it's been reported

I'll check it out, foolish.

then there's something really wrong with this setup. CTRL- ONE? (numeric 1) or capital I (eye)?

can anyone think of a broadband usage meter?

ctrl-L as in the letter L, short for Location

how about your system monitor tool?

if you just want to see the total bandwidt usage, use bwm-ng

i'm on a 50gig a month usage plan, so i would prefer a meter that totals the monthly, weekly.daily usage

hehe thanks. nfs:/server nfs://server server and the three there w/ the path specified all return errors (not valid)

Is this what you were referring to, foolish? Will turning off SELinux help? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=220115

the pkgs seems to be installed (nfs was selected in the add/remove progs)

hello everyone, what is the command to show the process which is using my soundcard?

not sure, it's something you might want to try
enter the ip, not just "server".

i have a inhose dns server working, but i'll try the static ip hosting too

hello everyone, what is the command to show the process which is using my soundcard?

no go

once is enough
make sure gnome-vfs2 is installed
and make sure you can ping the server and so forth

is there an fedora offtopic channel?

Foolish, sorry

ping works, gnome-vfs2 installed. It offers me tftp and smb only in the "network" window

i dont get it why is it rejecting my login

fuser can show which process is using a file, and the soundcard is supposed to be /dev/dsp
so fuser /dev/dsp might work
see iptraf

Foolish, thanks!

thanks

I just don't know then, sorry

no prob, thx for the help. I'm experienced in *BSD, but Linux hasn't impressed me (yet) -- F7 may be worthwhile to work with though

hey why am i getting 500 oops cannot change dir /backups

i want to help/fix some things on F7 packages... i'm just signed for a Fedora Contributor account on fedoraproject.org... now... what must i do to send my "patch" to fedora ?

to fix issues with existing packages, first report them via bugzilla

I sent stuff to bugzilla in the past. dunno if it still works the same way these days

the file sharing preferences dialogue box in GNOME for the "public" folder

Hi, foolish. Tried turning off SELinux, but the problem is with HAL. It still won't work. Mounting as root won't cut it, since I'm trying to restore my user data. :-/

is that FTP or SMB?

ftp

bugzilla.redhat.com, package maintainers welcome patches, make sure you include reasoning for the patches.
Once you've established a relationship of sorts with the current package maintainers, offer to co-maintain the package in question.

How do I put a process in the background and disasciate it from the termnial?
-nohup?

each time I try to connect to that folder from Windows it reports that the connection is reset...thoughts?

PwrSurge, Are any of the rpc services started? I would assume we'd need one to be able to browse NFS resources in the Network browser.

screen might be the better solution. but yeah, nohup foo &

jaclinuxhelp, depending on what you want to patch..... working directly with the upstream project maintainers may be more fruitfull

i'll check. this is a clean install (as of yesterday!)

PwrSurge, Did you make any customisations during the install?

would the firewall being on make a diff either?

Thanks....it is for starting up the folding@home smp client.

PwrSurge, Oh yeh and updated yet?

jaclinuxhelp, adding patches at the packaging level...instead of working with the upstream project..is not necessarily advisable

only to the software that's installed, not to the "services"

PwrSurge, I didn't think it would..

all updated as of 15 mins ago

PwrSurge, Ok ..

firewall definitely gets in the way of nfs if that's what you guys are on about

rpcbind was started.

/usr/share/applications/gnome-accesibility-keyboard.desktop... i want to add spanish translation to that file... which would be the faster and correct way to achieve that on fedora ?

Anyone know a FAST way to encode from 720p (x264) to DVD-compliant MPEG-2?

SELinux?? (I'm foreign on the concept and reasoning behind SELinux, other than "it's a good thing"(TM)

ffmpeg

fast is what i want

jaclinuxhelp, cant you work work with gnome upstream and get the translation in?

like 20 minutes fast

jaclinuxhelp, and then offer the patch to fedora after upstream accepts it?

basically what I'm looking to do is set up a simple and easy fileserver type of deal

disabling the firewall made no difference weather nfs was available

there's no way to judge time without knowing your hardware specs.

hey folks, would anyone be able to give me a hand figure out this problem?
http://reasonablyinteresting.com/~jokker/kernelerror.jpg
it's from an FC6-FC7 upgrade

please excuse me (i'm argentinian -- spanish parlant). i must understand what you mean with some terms first... "upsstream" means "central development repositories", for GNOME in this case ?

I have the latest kernel install via yum

how would i get mplayer to work in firefox?

jaclinuxhelp, yes it is best web hosting if translations get into the sourcecode that gnome maintains
jaclinuxhelp, so that all linux distributions can make use of them

if the livna.org repository is enabled: yum install mplayerplug-in

totem has a firefox plugin. Works with all the bad and ugly plugins

Foolish, i did that but its not in the plugins dir

rpm -ql mplayerplug-in

i need it for mlb.com

thans DrJef !!! i understand. so first would be better to be a 'gnome contributor', then a fedora one !

any other IRC networks that might be able to help me with my nfs problem?

since it's gnome related, try #gnome on GIMPnet

Foolish, its there, but why wont it open on a mplayer page?

irc.gimpnet.?

Foolish, it wants to open kaffiene or whatever

well didn't you say you have a firewall on? did you try disabling that? and if it's not working with gnome, which it sounds like, does it work via the command line?

I told the FW to turn off, looked l ike it was off (by reloading the config prog), tried nfs, and when I reloaded the fw prog, the firewall was mysteriously turned back on
no, haven't (yet) tried w/ the command line

so you did a "service iptables stop"? Think I'd try mount at the command line if gnome stuff isn't working

How do I get my internet connection in Wine?

should just work

it doesn't, my logitech software says it can't detect a connection

then you're outta luck

perhaps I have some firewall enabled or something?

perhaps. did you change anything so that outbound traffic is being blocked?

I don't believe so, is there a way I can check?

iirc, for a while logitech software couldn't find a connection on windows either

It works fine in windows

and why are you trying to install it with wine to begin with?

disabled iptables, nfs mounts in cmd line

and gnome?

gnome doesn't seem to be offering the nfs ability, at all

now i have mplayer in the plugins dir for firefox, but when i go to a site using it, it stops and wont play

nowhere to find it, and all hand-entries are blatenly refused without attempts

hmm, then what makes you think it should?

I'm trying to install in Wine because I don't want to boot into windows

I'm a kde guy here, so bear with me
bare with me is it?
ha, you can bear with me too I spose

hahah.. i stoped iptables with "service iptables stop" now it won't start again

well, that half an answer

honestly, i'm just seeing how F7 stacks up right now, weather it's gnome, kde, or xfce, I don't care -- i like all desktop environments

are you attempting to install a device driver?

uhh, just the part where it connects to the web it hangs
I'll just have to boot to windows...bleh

is it possible to compile/install source from a repo using yum?

elZip, the repos do not contain sources.

oh ok

elZip, Actually the repos do contain sources - source repositories.

mutk, the intent of that is that you build an rpm and then install the rpm. He wants to install from source.

then he wants freebsd or gentoo

elZip, you can grab the src rpms with yumdownloader, and rebuild 'em locally (rpmdevtools)

elZip, And yum-utils has the yumdownloader program.

i pay 17 east asian children to code my os in realtime.. $0.14/hr

ferrum, Yes, correct. However the statement 'the repos do not contain sources.' is just not true. The answer to elZip 's first q is 'No yum cannot be used to download and compile hosting from sources, but yumdownloader can access and retreive the source rpms that can be used to build rpm packages'

details...
the fact is ferrum wants him dead

fsck, Yeh facts. Factoids. Truth etc..

we all agree

mmm microbrew

elZip, a one-line HOWTO: yum install yum-utils rpmdevtools; rpmdev-setuptree; yumdownloader --enable fedora-source package; rpm -ivh package*src.rpm; cd ~/rpmbuild/SPECS; vi package.spec; rpmbuild -bb package.spec; rpm -ivh ../RPMS/i386/package*rpm
not 'proper' in all ways, but whatever

Is there any way to reconfigure alsa back to default settings?
I think I messed up something somewhere.

reinstall should do it.

Any command though? =D I spent a while setting my desktop up

remove the package and reinstall it i mean
not the os

ah k

yum remove
yum install

alsa-utls or alsa-lib?

THat may be problematic. yum remove anything may require deps removed too.

T_T

Ahadiel, I'd use rpm to remove, and yum to pull it back in again

mutk, Could you explain how?
I'm not familiar with rpm

Ahadiel, ie rpm -e --nodeps blah

k

Ahadiel, The yum install blah to get it back
Ahadiel, Oh and hide the nodeps option from family and freinds

K thanks alot
=D
Everything is working again.

is the 3945 chipset from Intel pretty easy to get working? (looking at a new laptop)

yes stahnma

there's a driver for it included in F7, but it's somewhat buggy

is it reliable enough for daily usage?

it's not bad as long as the signal's reasonably strong
i think there are instructions for installing the alternative ipw3945 driver on fedorasolved.org, it's more stable

is the text installer in centos5 the same as in fedora?

it's anaconda, so pretty much

What Linux app can I use to unzip files from the command line?

Mathman, centos seems... better some how, will have to try f7s
orange80, unzip

Thanks

orange80, no prob

nice website

sdodson, thanks... needs work
sdodson, wait
sdodson, you can't see my site now, can you?

It's down.

orange80, yah.... switching web host... i hate relying on hosts

seems busted

sdodson, between hosts.. left one with poor support, this one has a wierd php host setup

Yeah, that's the whole reason I'm using Fedora on this x86 box I have, so I can do j2ee learning/experiments/play easily.

Is it possible to make grub boot an .iso

orange80, had my time+fun playing with fedora, learning stuff
orange80, no time for that these days

Not that I'm aware of, what are you trying to do?

orange80, in here killing time while centos installs on my future backup+file+source+media server

I wish I had more time for it too, but most of my "free" time goes into Java.
uI wish I had more time for it too, but most of my "free" time goes into Java./u

I want to run the fedora installer, but I don't have a CD-R

orange80, java web host huh, i'm going to touch that this fall semester

Can I make grub run the install somehow

orange80, trying to avoid it if i can

add a new boot entry in grub.

Yeah, I love it.

zcat, what does it do?

Have you seen Wicket?

To point at what?

use the kernel and initrd.img from /images/pxeboot on the install media

orange80, i hear its okay, but i'm trying to not do more lanuages than i need

pembo13_com, splits the menu into 3 panes, and adds search.

orange80, wicket... no

Give this a read. So far it seems as good as they promised http://wicket.sourceforge.net/Introduction.html

zcat, think i saw that on kde look, cool
orange80, reading..
orange80, looks like a keeper for future reading
orange80, my next interest is client-server programming

I did a little php, but I didn't like it near as much as Java. If you like doing OO programming, then Java seems way better.

orange80, see...

When I boot off the install dvd it asks for me to choose the install medium, when I choose CD-ROM (no DVD choice) it demands a fedora install cd (even though i already have my dvd in there), and when I choose http/ftp it requires some strange parameters. can anyone help ?

orange80, i don't like to think of web dev as programming, so i like scripts for it (most of the time)

make sense?

ya I think so
trying now

orange80, that's why i hated using ASP.NET + C#

You'll then need to do a network based install so be sure you know the address of an ftp server.

ya that's the easy part...
I run a fedora mirror (mirror.web-ster.com)

Well, from what I've heard all that C# stuff is pretty much just a verbatim copy of Java, so you might not like it.

Just need a way to run the installer

http://www.sdodson.com/blog/archives/27 someone else did a much better write up but I can't find the link off the top of my head

orange80, i would choose java over c# any day

perfect... thanks

orange80, but i will have my taste of java in a few months
orange80, i think the number of slow running java apps i've seen has given me a bad impression

Yeah, considering it's the original, and can also run on pretty much any OS, and is not a stupid M$ product.

orange80, some people seem to swear by C#, i guess it may be good for application development

here goes nothin

Well, my understanding is mainly that Java is king of large-scale web apps.

anyone else noticing jpackage mirros not responding?

how do you check to see if a DVD was burned properly using the SHA1SUM ??

sha1sum the DVD device
also, Fedora install media have a check media feature

is upgrade possible from FC2 to F7?

that's quite the leap

That's not a tested upgrade path.
I imagine you'll have troubles. Backup your data and do a fresh install is the most likely route to success.

what is the command to sha1sum the dvd drive ??

the drive or the disk in the drive?

orange80, i've heard that also
jason357, ALOT has changed

sha1sum /dev/dvd
or some such

jason357, if you must do it, remove as many packages as possible

maelstrom, that won't always work because ISOs are multiples of a 2048 blocksize, so it'll sha1sum the wrong amount of data
bmaelstrom, that won't always work because ISOs are multiples of a 2048 blocksize, so it'll sha1sum the wrong amount of data/b

I was kinda hoping to use yum

well then how am I supposed to check to see if it burnt properly without booting into it ?

maelstrom, you can use the isosize util to get the correct size and pump it through dd
maelstrom, dd if=/dev/dvd bs=2048 count=$(($(isosize /dev/dvd) / 2048)) | sha1sum

where would you guys suggest putting multimedia files to be shared on a network? /var or /usr/share?

/share

/srv/

DrNick, what would 'srv' stand for?

serve

in /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/pemboshare

is there a fedora offtopic channel?

okay so apparently my disc burned properly, the sha1sums match

DrNick, good idea
DrNick, thanks

why am i having problems then ? (it keeps telling me I need to put a fedora CD in the drive)

maelstrom, did you put a fedora cd in the drive?

#fedora-social #fedora-last-resort of course even #fedora veers off topic when it's slow

after I choose the language and keyboard layout it asks where I am installing from. I choose CD-ROM device because it is the closest to DVD,. but it refuses to accept that

Strange... I thought it didn't ask you that by default..

maelstrom, maybe you have one of those pata_XXX bugs?

what does that mean ?

maelstrom, search bugzilla for install problems

wolsni, hi there

wolsni, first time?

first time what?
being close to sea level?

wolsni, yah

not at all

wolsni, cool, was curious
wolsni, still coming to terms with meeting people who've never seen the sea

it's like a lake. except bigger, noisier, and saltier.

and with more jelly fish

I've been googling crackling sound using SDL mixer and haven't found much besides the "Turn volume to %100" solution.
Does anyone here know any work-around?

All, Requesting help... I have downloaded the Fedora 7 DVD ISO. I can boot at Start-Up but when initializing in the first stage it seems to try and setup the OHCI (Something Like That) Controller... At this stage it freezes and i can never seem to move on from this. Does anybody have any suggestion's? Regards, DC

is there a LCL for Linux distros?

a what?

mrdigital-work: LCL for Linux distro??

do u have anything plugged into the usb port?
ohci is usb controller i think?
maybe you have a usb keyboard?

is there a simple/single command i can use to see the current data rate on my NIC?

ethtool eth0

Hello all!

DrNick, thanks

I've got one of the stupidest questions, but here it goes
I just installed eggdrop via yum, and I can't find the config file

Forgott3n`: rpm -ql eggdrop

Forgott3n`: "rpm -ql eggdrop" will tell you all files owned by that package

ah a useful tool

it likely installed a sample in /usr/share/eggdrop/ or something

ah thanks
one last place I didn't check

hi all, how do I add the livna repository during install of fedora 7?
the part I'm unsure about is the repository url

checkers, intructions are on the livna website

I can't see them :| I think the site died and old versions are up
News
* Server back online yepee! This is a pretty old copy of the livna Main page, but
the repository rpms. Enjoy and stay tuned

zcat, I've done
zcat, I put windows xp x64 on fedora core 6

elZIP Yes I have a USB Keyboard & Mouse?
is that a problem?

SAM_theman, ok
it highlights newly installed app entries. i like.

I have a USB Keyboard & Mouse...is this causing my loading freeze problem when booting from DVD

salestech, not sure. plug in an old ps2 keyboard and boot with "nousb" ?

cool

Hi people.. Anyone with 5 min to helpme out with a problem with postfix as a smtp_sasl_auth client?

zcat, on fc6 I am having some freezening problem with the new nvidia drivers

what's going to happen to older machines? seems like Fedora can nolonger serve as a desktop for sub 800Mhz machines
http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=238279&cid=19485675

Fedora is a cutting edge distro
sub 800MHz machines are not cutting edge :P

wolsni, but can any linux work on it... ie. does anyone cater for it?
wolsni, a fellow linux user back in my homeland had to settle for win2k + office97 for some school lab machines
wolsni, oo.org simply takes too long
wolsni, and the DEs he tried we too slow

EL4 should still run okay on those.

i would think that debian would be fine with a proper selection of packages

ivazquez, i'll google that

RHEL/CentOS 4.

there are also distros that are designed around running with minimal memory footprints such as puppy linux or damn small linux (DSL)

ivazquez, so i've realised

DSL is best suited for 486s though.

wolsni, i think the killer is a full office sweet that can't boot up in a sensible amount of time
suite*

well, koffice is a lot quicker to load than oo.o in my experience
if you don't mind sacrificing compatibility with MS Office you should check it out

wolsni, koffice has a db app?

it's called kexi

hmm, intersting
hopefully KDE comes to windows... can't expect students to install linux at their home to do their homework

i haven't used it or any db app though so don't ask me about features :P

allo

i wish the oo.org guys would slim things down a bit

I have an external HDD formated with NTFS for compatabillity issues. But Fedora / gnome-volume-manager is trying to protect the SAM by mounting it with root only permissions. Is there I place were I can change that defult behavior? I must be a simple parameter because the log knows that is is being done on behalf of my user

yo ferrum

hey

epablo, tsk tsk, trying to hack a drive you stole huh

kde4 looks like it will make a windows port of KDE apps a lot more feasible

wolsni, so i've heard

wolsni, KDE4 promises a windows port, so I've heard

that's not completely accurate

ferrum, not sure if there was a promise

there will be a kdelibs port
but individual apps will be up to the developer
kwin probably won't be ported

aha. What's required for porting to windows?

Nope.. bought a western digital. Made a good backup on windows and now want to beable to do the same on linux with plug n' play

epablo, i kid you

hopefully a recompile will do it, but depending on the app things might be different

I thought so

qt4 has a windows port?

qt has always had a windows port iirc

is there an adobe reader in the repos?

but version 4 has a GPL'd windows port

Just asking I use neither Windows nor QT
yarddog, evince is a pdf reader

there are several PDF readers in the repos, but not from adobe

plugins for firefox too?

yarddog, no, you just click "Open With Evince"

you sure its in the repos?

(you can set it to do that automatically, if you'd like).
evince? yes.
perhaps you already have it installed?

if you would like to have PDFs open in your browser you can use konqueror and kpdf
bif you would like to have PDFs open in your browser you can use konqueror and kpdf/b

ferrum, what is it listed under in the menu?

yarddog, I'm sorry, I never used the menu.

i think it's "Document Viewer"

What would i type if I wanted to see the last 10 lines, for example, of a log file using cat.

C'ya guys

orange80, tail

don't use cat, use tail

ok

"tail blah" shows the last 10 lines, see man tail for tweaks

Great, thanks!
Thanks to you too!

Affirmation!

Sorry didn't realize there were two different people. I just zeroed in on the grey highlighted text.

I'll live

i have burned 4 different F7 install discs and I am having problems with all of them. I'm about to just burn a kubuntu disc and use that, at least it will probably work
like, i am running the install off the cd or dvd and then all of a sudden it tells me I need to install a fedora install cd. well duh, what the fuck do you think has been in my drive since I booted the computer ?

maelstrom, Read the onjoin message please..

maelstrom, that doesn't make sense. "install a fedora install cd" ?

sorry. insert not install

maelstrom, How many disks did you use?
maelstrom, CD install is a few disks. Not one.

mutk, we don't have a multi-cd install... do we?
maelstrom, you're talking about the livecd?

x86_64 dvd, x86_64 livecd, x86_64 minimal boot, i386 livecd. the livecds just flat out won't boot, I get weird "butter I/O error on logical block ####" messages, and the minimal boot & full dvd get stuck when it can't find a place to install from

maelstrom, I get those errors too. You have to be patient..

*cracks open a Dos Equis*

maelstrom, You mean buffer IO

heh

hah. yeah buffer

Ok, 'f' and 't' are pretty close on a qwerty keyboard

maelstrom, just disregard those error messages. Booting from a livecd takes time.

well I should have said that after those buffer i/o errors I get "WARNING: cannot find root file system" and I get stuck in a bash prompt

Aha.
maelstrom, just for future reference, we have a Test 3 phase where community members should test out the release and ensure that it boots. For the present, I (obviously) have no idea what's causing your issues.
Is your processor also 32-bit capable? Try installing that?

do u have multiple cdrom drive on ur pc?

i did try the i386 livecd without luck
KageSenshi, yes

ferrum, I must have been asleep when that happened Yeh no multiCD installs these days. That is sort of good and bad I guess.
maelstrom, Some detail on the hardware would be ncie too.

what sort of machine is it?

i smell a bug here ... bootup confused on multi-cd drive computers ... it happened to me before ... but it has been a while since i got that error ..

i put it together myself, asus a8n5x mobo, athlon 64 3200 cpu

anyone how to change the X resolution after a game screws it up? (xrandr complains that the RandR extension is missing (because on of my displays is a fixed rotation))

you're right, and i did laugh, but good visuals would send it to another level of humor

i like Cyanide and Happiness

The Screen Resolution applet doesn't work?

tw2113, zcat It is like xkcd is channelling _my thoughts_. I really do think like that and in fact did think exactly that phrase once.. Man that is spooky..

something is messed up with my machine, i've had to rebuild the rpmdb 3 times this week and it's only tuesday

sdodson, kde here. had used krandrtray in the past, but it expects the xrandr extension too. the game that screwed up my res didn't need that extension though.

sdodson, That could be the rpmdb daily bork cron job
sdodson, I wonder if yum-updatesd has anything to do with it?

--------watching Elephants Dream making-of

mutk, don't think so. i filed a bug about it thinking the same, but the problem happened again after i disabled it.
about 3 times i've had to rm /var/lib/rpm/__db.00* to get things working again

http://rafb.net/p/0Snpe240.html what i'm getting but i don't think it's yum related as it clears up after an rpmdb rebuild

sdodson, looks like gnome-display-properties depends on the xrandr extension too.
blobAndConquer - bad! bad game! screw my resolution

heh, i saw that mentioned somewhere
we must read the same lists

last choice .. /usr/sbin/gdm-restart ~

quick reminder, how do I label a directory as public_content_t ?

chcon

sdodson, well yes

oh you wanted more detail i guess

sdodson, was refering to the exact syntax
reading the man in the mean time
chcon -t public_content_t i guess

I think so, that man page is sparse to say the least

sdodson, quite
i asked google
sdodson, i'm using /srv/pub for for anon ftp/http
sdodson, was wondering what's the most selinux way of setting that dir to public_content_t
is chcon seems temporary

any ma.gnolia users here?

if i ever relabel, i suspect it will remove it

yeah, it's tuesday

false

i consider it the day before until i wake up again
so even if it's like 3am, it's still the previous day in my head
5am is the cutoff

the day is over for me

Has anyone here managed to get Doom 3 working on Fedora properly?
If so, do you have a widescreen?
I'm having re-sizing issues.

nope, can't say i play Doom

Ah well, it was worth asking I suppose.

okay, i must be going insane. which package do i need to get my hands on cc1plus ?
i was under the impression it was part of the c preprocessor
but i have that

"yum provides '*cc1plus'"

aha
heh. damned file list is probably bigger than the package i need. thanks tho
okay, maybe it's not

I have a question about upgrading to Fedora 7 from Fedora Core 6. Am I even in the correct channel to ask that?

yes you're correctly located

I have a questyion.. is there a CD install set coming soon?

dunno, i'm n00bish still

god.. I can't type anymore..
I've been running FC6 for a few months and really like it.. but I'm poor, I can't afford a DVD drive :/
I want to upgrade to Fedora 7 to get all the new enhancements and such.

somehow i think there may be a way to run the ISO from your computer without burning it
don't quote me though

the LiveCD's are also installers

but don't they over write everything o that drive?
that you install to*

back up your home folder then

yes, they basically just copy the cd to your hard drive

I can't fit my home folder on my other drives o_o;;

burn to CD in chunks?

you could do an update using yum
there are guides for that around

it's not recommended though

requires bandwidth, but it'll probably save you bandwidth anyway, since it shouldn't download the entire distro
ah
bummer

o.o
if it didn't show my name change -Soviet_Bob

it did

the bob gave you away

k.

What ever

Lots of bob's

I just got Fedora Core 6 to run Sun Java. I guess everything I got installed will vanish with a Fedora 7 upgrade. What is the end of life for Fedora Core 6?

about the time F8 comes out

yeah

this fall

I still havn't gotten sun java to work @.x

what is end of life
u can use fc6 forever

end of support?

there is no end of life, its up to u

support for 6 ends with 8

lol

such as if you really wanted to, you could still use MS windows 3.11, but they don't support it anymore.

yay figured it out

thats a bad analogy

same concept. It is end of support, simple as that.

Yes, getting Sun Java to run under Fedora Core 6 was a bit tricky because of all the misinformation on the web.

say wha? the interweb lied to you?

hahaha

Has anyone here gotten Sun Java to run under Fedora 7?

sure
i have 1.5.0_12 from sun using the JPackage srpm

I have 1.6.0u1 right now.

any of you on the fedoraforum as well? and if so, ID?

I'm running that same 1.5 Sun Java version here. You answered my question. I appreciate it. But that leads to another question.
My real question was if anyone got Chikka (not the java version) to run on Fedora Core 6 or Fedora 7.

You're going to make us Google it, aren't you...

what "cool" things can one do with logwatch?
ivazquez, http://www.chikka.com/

Nobody that I am aware of has gotten Chikka to work correctly with Fedora Core 6.

It's a Windows app. You want #wine.

I get much misinformation from Google. Not a trusted place. I thought this would be a better place for real info.

New versions of WINE won't run my favorite win app.

Who let Bob_Dole in here?

Hi guys. I'm considering going from Ubuntu to Fedora. Do you know of a good comparison of the two distros (or could you sum up in one sentecnce why I should change ?

Bob Dole let Bob Dole in here.

linux is linux...it's just a matter of flavor

Because you want to. No other reason.

sort of like coke and diet coke and pepsi

Fedora has this really neat "DNA theme."

ivazquez, so the requirements are fulfilled already. sweet

FC6 had the DNA, F7 has hot air balloons *thumbs up*

You will see it expressed in the wallpaper, for example.

not the most recent version

I like Fedora more than ubuntu, which is what I used for about a year.

Oh, sorry. Not there yet.
Well, if the DNA is gone, I'm out of here. Hot air ballons sound ghey.

hehe
I get the point :-)

man, it's too bad you can't change the wallpaper in linux

What?

they should add some configurability

i heard they're taking F8 to space

I change mine a lot

is there a "simple" way to sync user passwords between machines?

Not really.

or at least considering it

Fedora assumes a bit of savvy, Ubuntu does not.

also considered underwater

ivazquez, cool

I change my desktop monthly.

debian assumes a lot of savvy

background*

I just use LDAP and forget about it.

dole changes wallpaper like he changes underwear?
:P

brown in back...

Hmm, I can't seem to join #wine. I guess it isn't a channel on freenode

hello guys!

it's winehq for whatever reason

i figure...if i want to run a Windows program, i'll log into windows

oh that makes sense more or less :o

lol

i glad someone got that.. pretty sly eh?

Don't forget yellow in front.

yep
really bad saying
but funny

wow, real classy, guys

That's another question. Have you been able to run VMware and toggle between Windows and Linux, or maybe get Zen to do the same?

it's only yellow if you don't drink enough liquids

voline, sorry

you're dehydrated

Yeah, it's hard to say if I'll ever be old enough to think this juvenile humor isn't funny.

I mean, have you been able to get Fedora 7 to toggle between Windows XP and linux using any software out there at all?

i think you mean Xen

Yes, Xen. I'm smiling.

there is kqem i think too
qemu ?
kqemu
xen hypervisor woked well for me on a fc6
it likes to have a fair amount of ram

i installed xorg 1.3.0.0-8.fc7 cause updates told me to,

Okay. I will go ahead and put Fedora 7 on this box. I don't have a fair amount of ram. Maybe putting some bicycle peddles on this old comp might help.

and it looks like its messed with my nvidia drivers - desktop effects are borked now and trying to enable beryl results in x crashing
can i revert to an older xorg version?

128mb of ram?

256

i'd not install gnome/kde

I'm running a AMD Ksomething.

gnome is desktop software
amd k6 is the cpu

I had one of those around 1998.

wow

Yes, AMD-K6(tm) 3D processor. I live in the Philippines. We don't make a lot of pesos here.

pesos == processors

Hello guys

no worries

Understandable.

it should work

I've set up a search engine that looks into fedora sites... Feel free to help and contribute: http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=011057779923588025604%3Aakrqpglozlu

pesos=tiny fraction of US dollars.

i'm using a dual pii 400 machine
myself

rmelton, lol

youre lolling at his poverty?

no on pesos

hey! I'm a pesos user!

i thought pesos meant processor

Cebu City looks cool.

I know they're not much... we love to spend them on beer! ;

WRITE@LBA=1f1c50h failed with SK=3h/ASC=0Ch/ACQ=00h]: Input/output error which was supposedly fixed quite a few kernel revisions ago. anybody know what I need to do to get it fixed again?

openbysource, it's a currency

yeah i came to know a little later

hello... how can I vnc into a listening viewer? I want the listening viewer to connect to my server

misc--, no, it has to connect to you

yeah I want the listener to vnc into me... so, server says "oi, connect to me..." and then on the viewer you just click accept which goes in

kinda like apache doesn't connect to firefox right?

Okay, I see.

does anyone else use fc7 and nvidia drivers and have issues with updated xorg?

opensource, I was just seeing if chat worked the way it did like 1o years ago.
Where is the channel to remember how to use chat? I feel so stupid.

etc...) when the hard disk is not detected? I heard that the hard disk must be detected or it won't work. Can't understand why but can't really find any official info about it

actually, i had the exact opposite. closing xine would ALWAYS crash my X server using the open source nvidia drivers. when i switched to proprietary, it stopped doing that.

misc--, at the boot prompt i use linux vnc and it works well
dunno about the hard drive
never tried it w/o a working drive

I appreciate all of your help. Take care.

rmelton, no worries
freenode.org i think is the website were to learn more

you should try installing linux without a hard drive. it's very..liberating..

keep going learning is fun

caffine, im using proprietary drivers, and system update installed xorg1.3.0.0-8.fc7 for me - fc7 ships with 1.3.0.0-7 iirc

evil_steve, usb memory stick

yeah, ok no worries. It's worked on others, just not this one which it can't detect the hard disk

or into ram?

caffine, so xorg was updated
caffine, and now desktop effects no longer work, and beryl crashes x when it loads

i've everything updated as of a few days ago, and running the nvidia drivers from livna.

evil_steve, what about iscsi or some other storage media ?

i couldnt get livna drivers to load.

ah. i'm not using the desktop effects or beryl (don't know where those are :p )

i wanted to know, cause its the simpliest solution, how do i revert to xorg1.3.0.0-7 ?

Hehee, you know slackware was my first install and it was with a 56K modem online, like a hundred years ago. I just gforget stuff.

Another slackware person!

Once you've gotten slakware to install, the rest isn't so hard.
Like beating Mohammed Ali.

true
fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee!

hrm..anyone else experiencing hard lockups with any vmware product after the latest round of updates?

can you use yum and specify an exact version? i haven't tried to downgrade.

caffine, i dont think yum will let you downgrade

how could I browse the bugs listed at redhat's bugzilla?
I'm interested in the fedora ones
without the need of a user account?

google?

You don't need a user account to browse fedora bugs on Red Hat's Bugzilla.

something like bug-i'm-looking-for site:bugzilla.redhat.com

Our first linux installs were over modem connections with floppies. Excruciating, but we got them to work. Took a couple of beers.

rmelton, I remember those days well. A good dozen floppies or so installed slackware Linux.

hey guys, I'm having trouble with a script that uploads a .html file to ftp... I want to set it so it does it every hour
http://slexy.org/paste/3058
is that correct?

how do I browse them then?

Just a sec ... let me get you a good URL, Renich

thanks a lot... I'm adding it to my fedora crawler search ;
http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=011057779923588025604%3Aakrqpglozlu

http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/
Renich, Click on "Query" on the upper tool-bar of that page to query the Bugzilla database.

If you remeber those days well, you just might recall the old Altairs where we had to load in the data and addresses with switches by hand. I'm just that old.
Giggling.

ok, thanks a lot, Questor... let's see if the custom search works with it

but did you ever debug with an oscilloscope?

rmelton, although I never had an Altair, I know people who did have them ... I started with home computers just a couple years later, with paper-tape and teletype input-output.

and a 15Mhz one at that

Renich, best I can suggest is play with the search on that page.

ok, thanks a lot!

Renich, welcome. Have fun.

I have a dual-trace older Tektronix scope. Worked as an electronic repair tech for about 8 years.
My scope is back in the States. I'm here in the Philippines.
Why were you curious about my scope?

Good morning and welcome to yet another glorius day people

hello, MrMarkie... but it's noon here.. haha

Renich, damn, these "time zones" is out to get me :P

yeah, well, try living under UTC and... it went ok... for a while
s/try/tried
ups my correction has a bug
s/s\/try\/tried/s\/try\/tried\//
there, that fixes it

hey quick question
how do I upload a .html (on the command line) via ftp... and make it so I can make it go as a cron command

Anyone using a HP DV2000 laptop in F7?

I hereby declare war on both time zones and time itself. I will stand as the sole victor of this battle and I will drag humanity into a better world :P

Forgott3n`: that wasn't so quick...

I promise to be faster
any idea, thought?

I wasn't curious about the scope, that was just how we used to fault find on the altiars "tp3 active, load pulse good. tp4 active, load pulse rounded"

Wait. I notice a definite difference here. Are you required to be kind? Some linux channels are not.

Forgott3n`: yeah, try: man lftp, man crontab and that'll help you a lot!
Forgott3n`: here's a tip lftp -c

thanks

Forgott3n`: the rest if up 2 you... oh and by the way, you can always search for help at: http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=011057779923588025604%3Aakrqpglozlu

Yeah people in here seem pretty cool, the few times I've needed help. (I am not very experienced with Linux.)

Anyone know why my sound would die after a reboot?

depends on who is about at the time. some people like to help and extract answers like their pulling teeth with a pair of forceps, others chose a more...direct..path to obtain the answer.

yeah, It happens when you connect other sound stuff to your PC/Laptop and Fedora happens to find it... happens to me with a Firewire 1814
try disconnecting that thingy you connected and rebooting

lol I havent connected anything to my laptop

then, I dunno.. hahaha..

Are you in England?

no, Au
and yes, my grammar and typing sucks sometime

Okay. Thanks. I get your accent now.

anyway, check the obvious things... volume turned off... speakers turned off... volume at the top right corner of your screen, systempreferenceshardwaresound and systempreferencesadministrationsoundcard detection

yup looked at it all
it finds the cardany sound but doesnt play
any sound

is it not muted if you right-click on the top-right corner?

ya not muted
I use KDE not Gnome

then it's out of my fedorian comprehension... any updates?

well not since yesterday and the sound was working today
then I did a reboot into vista and back to linux and it went by by

is anything connected to the laptop? like some headphones or something?

nope

anyone knows how anaconda performs "grow to allowable maximum size" during partitioning with parted?

lol when I connect my headt set it works
let me see if I change it what happens

i basically want to create one partition that spans the entire disk non-interactively
tried "parted /dev/sdb mkpart primary 0 -1" but it complains about -1 being an invalid option

I sort of am smiling here.

try this: http://www.google.com/custom?hl=en&client=google-coop-np&cof=AH%3Aleft%3BS%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Ffedoraproject.org%2F%3BCX%3AFedora%2520Crawler%3BL%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.woralelandia.com%2Fimg%2Ffcrawler_logo.png%3BLH%3A47%3BLP%3A1%3BGFNT%3A%23666666%3BDIV%3A%23cccccc%3B&q=kde%2C+no+sound&btnG=Search&cx=011057779923588025604%3Aakrqpglozlu

rmelton, eh?

wha!! sorry for that!

is ther a way to uninstall the sound card and have linux reinstall the driver?

rmelton, any tricks you've got there?

well, yeah... you can rip it off the laptop and then put it back in... use a nice pointy screwdriver for that one...

lol

did you mess with your BIOS?

I wasn't paying attention, but I suspect what you want to do.

nope
I have not touched a thing since it worked

Oh, I give up. I suggest posting at fedoraforum.org, at the hardware section. Don't forget to give your exact brand, model, general specs and describe your problem perfectly well

ya
thanks

or maybe you could just email Dr House

I've gone through everything you will have to go through. No real tricks. Learning curve.

lol

that guy seems to know everything

rmelton, i could probably script it but it wouldn't be elegant
im tempted to read the anaconda code

i liked The Anaconda Code
it was exciting

??

then just su -c 'yum install anaconda'; cat /usr/share/anaconda

never mind ._.

Better than the Da vinci code?

personally hated both the book and the movie of that one.

lol
Was I the onlyone to see "the linux code" at video.google.com?

Haven't read it, don't seem to be oss... can't find the source pakages on any repo

da vinci code had too much hype

:P
Checking the linux code now

G'day

one requires to understand various languages

hi there

hello chmac

If I choose to install 'vlc' with yumex, it prompts me to download just the vlc rpm, but if I use `yum install vlc` it prompts me to download a bunch of dependencies
Yumex 1.9.8
Anyone got any suggestions?

Renich, I'm Swedish... we understand all languages by birth :P

I'm stumbed, not even sure where to start, I've already removed it and installed a new version (released 2 days ago)

ok I am going to screw around with this thing a little then I am off to bed. Thanks for the help

really? hahaha... that's cool... I'm having a Swedish girl stay a few days next friday... she's here, at México, for social services

chmac install the dependencies?

Now, I've just installed vlc and 3 updates via yumex and it's included all the dependencies

is it so bad?

stay on the light side of the force... (yum = light side)

Yeah, I can just use yum instead of yumex, but I'd like to resolve the yumex issue if possible...

the cd in the cdrom drive is not a fedora cd!!

lol

chmac whats the issue?

Maybe it's a yumex bug if you install only one package, I'll try a few tests...

yum is reporting dependencies but yumex isnt?

man, you have to remount it

Exactly. Yum installs the deps, but yumex doesn't

Renich, cool... just don't believe everything you have heard about swedish girls

REMOUNT the optical drive during install ?

well, I haven't hahaha! Besides, she's supposed to be some kind of composer or something?

Listen you guys, I hear exaclty what you are saying, and can't type as fast as you. But I've been through all the same issues.
Almost all.

yeah, if you took it out... you have to insert and remount it... try hitting ctrl + alt + {f1,f2,f3,f4} and see where you can find errors and remount it

an someone tell me which is the best processor for core 6 x86_64

Well, then maybe you should believe what you've heard

lol, ok

intel em64T or amd athlon 64? which supports the OS better?

athlon

no I didn't take it out, mid-install it spits it out saying "this is not a fedora cd" despite the fact that that very cd is the whole reason i am booting into the fedora installation tool

I have a athlon 64 x2 and works wonders!
ok, did you check it when prompted?

yes the sha1sum has been matched

thanks Renich
how is athlon 4000+ for a desktop installation?

sure... I also bought an asus mb with nvidia chipset... that's part of the drew too

overboard .

s/drew/brew/

i have a athlon 64 2800+......and it works perfectly fine with core 6.........but then ppl told me that core 2 duo is good....i couldn't believe it....lol
